. Rock, Paper, Peace PART 2: FROM PAGE TO PICTURE Updated Oct. 12, 2003 While Assistant Director Hope R. Goodwin assembles a team to break down the script and set up her department, Casting Agent Stansi Stokes brings her considerable expertise to bare by casting the three main players of Rock, Paper, Peace from the bootcamp participants. Another stroke of good fortune for the production, in that we will not have to pull talent from outside the group. Zachary Lindsey will play the Frenchman Sebastien, Ryan Panchadsaram will play Ajay, and Brandon Behle will play Dave. Pivitol roles left to cast are the Canadian hippie, Harold, and Diana, the new president. These roles, as well as the many delegates required for the final scene, are dealt with at Thursday morning's casting call. There, though we do find our Diana (Kimberly Eaton from the camera department who also happens to be an actress), we still come up short on finding Harold. The clock is ticking. And though several possible locations have been found for scene 13 (Ext. Woods - Day), MSG doesn't like any of them. The scene, where ever it winds up, is moved to Monday, day two of the shoot, joining the complicated ensemble sequences. FULL PRE-PRODUCTION With the final script in hand, Stan calls a production meeting following the casting call. The shoot will be an agressive one. Among the challenges inherent to our little 7-page story: twelve speaking parts, nearly two dozen extras, eleven locations, three picture cars, and numerous wardrobe and prop requirements. Each department is assigned responsibilities. All are to report back with a progress report at 1 p.m. The production department works until 10:30 Thursday night scheduling the first day of shooting. We will have 2 and 2/8's worth of script pages to cover. Tomorrow's call is 5:45 a.m.
