. Tick-Tock (working title) THE ROUGH CUT Updated August 11, 2004
Screened at the wrap party on Sunday, Aug. 8, the rough cut of Tick-Tock was assembled by the IFB students,
broken into four editing teams and working under the supervision of editor
John Rosenberg.
While the rule of thumb is to never show your rough cut to an audience, it's a fact of filmmaking that any finished project
must first start with a raw first cut in order to determine what works and what doesn't, whether there is a cohesive story,
and what, if any, additional needs there are to complete the movie.
During his session on scoring the day before, composer
Michael Page provided music samples to temporarily
overlay for the screening (a proper music soundtrack will be furnished for the final cut).
Color correction, alternate takes, refinement of cuts, titles, ADR, sound effects, etc.,
will soon be incorporated. The movie that you can watch now, however, shot in two days, did not exist in any way, shape or form nine
days before. The good and the bad is included – but only for a short while – so check it out while you can!
Enjoy, and check back soon for the final cut.
