SAN DIEGO—Annie Potts, celebrated actress of television and film, will be presenting National Student Film Awards at the second annual Student Television Network Affiliates Convention. The inaugural ceremony, honoring outstanding achievement in media production by middle and high school students, will take place at a special gala dinner hosted by The American Academy of Arts, in association with STN, this week.

With films from across the nation vying for top honors, including one from London, England, awards will be presented for the following categories:

Best Picture

Best Performance

Best Screenplay

Best Visual Effects

Best Comedy

Best Documentary

Best Cinematography

The winners will be announced Thursday evening during a live webcast from the Universal Sheraton, one of two hotels where the 3-day convention will be held.
